FASHION DESIGN AWARD
05 May 2008

This year sees the introduction of >createurope: THE FASHION ACADEMY AWARD<, a Europe-wide competition for young fashion designers.  The competition is an initiative of the >Goethe-Institutes<, together with >EUNIC Berlin<, the community of European cultures in Berlin.  The website, >www.createurope.com< gives all private and state-suppored fashion schools in Europe the possibility to present themselves, and fashion design students (or those who wish to become design students) a platform where they can inform themselves about the competition, design schools or network with other students.  Those who wish to participate in the competition must apply by June 30 at the Goethe Institute Berlin.  30 finalists will be chosen to present their collection in a fashion show in Berlin in the mid-October.  The winners in three categories „Best Upcoming Designer Award,“ „Best Avant-Garde Award“ and „Best Student Award“ will receive a professional grant in the amount of 5000-25,000 Euro.
