The noble idea behind >–able gallery<, the art-enhancing presence in the Neukölln area, is to give contemporary artists the opportunity to publicly view the works and enhance their development. –able gallery is well aware of the audience’s role to face and help artists in learning and discovering the new. For that reason it continuously promotes interaction between artists and viewers at art programs and festivals, like the one starting on June 5th. “Austellable im Juni” will feature Becky Beynon, a British experimenting artist whose thoughtful installation “In between the Mop and the Bucket” aims to raise questions upon the placement of the female role within contemporary society. Household appliances are transformed into tools that cleverly subvert the traditional identity and domain of the female, in an artistic and progressive way. The exhibition runs until June 28th at Hobrechtstraße 28 and is open Thursdays–Saturdays from 3-8pm.
