The >Martin-Gropius-Bau< is proud to view the various works of the very talented and appraised Swiss architect Le Corbusier. The exhibition titled “Le Corbusier – Kunst und Architektur”, includes over 380 chronological pieces and covers a time span of 60 years. It explores the depth and variety of his architecture while remaining focused on the special relationship Le Corbusier had to Germany and Berlin. Breaking his work down into three different spheres – “Context”, “Privacy and Publicity” and “Built Art” – the exhibition reveals his notion of “Synthesis of Art” which is exemplified in many of his multi-layered projects and contains aspects of architecture, painting, design, film and urban development. The exhibition also deals with his particular interest in the Orient and Mediterranean during the 1930’s, as well as with his latest fascination with Technology and Media. “Le Corbusier – Kunst und Architektur”, displayed in the Martin-Gropius-Bau (Niederkirchner Str. 7) until October 5th, honors the greatest achievements throughout his successful career.
