Im NAMEN des RAUMES
16 November 2009

>In Namen des Raumes< is a project combining art, design and pleasure. The project aims to provide art created without financial gain in mind – a space for honest, relevant and anti-mainstream art, accessible for all. Not only will Im Names Des Raumes be combining art, design and food but also literature for an all-round, culturally-saturating experience. There will be book readings, lectures and discussions on books related to the theme of the time (the theme will change bi-monthly). The opening exhibition is #1 Ausblick (view), where the room will be transformed into a living space with ever-changing ideas and concepts that show the changeability and flexibility of the project and art in general – nothing has to remain the same and objects can be re-assembled to generate stimulating symbioses and harmonies. Portuguese fashion designer Daniel Dinis will be in the design room. His clothes range challenges where fashion ends and art installation begins, through recycling materials from previous collections: showing the resourcefulness of re-using materials without compromising on quality or aesthetics. Diana Djeddi will be documenting his creations. For when you are tired, thirsty and hungry, the café will be waiting for you like an oasis in a desert with wonderful delicacies and a hot mug of coffee. The exhibition is at the Henselmannturm (Strausberger Platz 19) from 14th November. [Credits: "inkblot" 2009; clothes by Daniel Dinis; photos by Diana Djeddi]
